Parade of Souls

Over the weekend, I was in Arizona spending time with my sisters in law. We took a road trip visiting the places my recently transitioned brother wanted to take me to but wasn't able.
The main stop was to have been Jerome; a little historic mining town tucked away in the Black Hills overlooking the Verde Valley. However, the winding but very scenic route getting there left me with an unusual case of motion sickness. So, we drove through the town and on up to Sedona for brunch at a very nice little cafe called the Coffee Pot. Really good food and service...but that isn't what stood out to me.
While attempting to stave off my nausea with an order of biscuits and gravy, I suddenly had a heightened sensitivity to the spirit world. One soul after another paraded past me, dropping their names as they went. They referred to themselves as the "parade of souls". Not wanting anything in particular or to pass along any specific messages (I wouldn't have passed messages along to strangers sitting at the table behind me anyway). They just wanted to be acknowledged. Sort of hard to not acknowledge a parade, isn't it?
I then went to the Green Witch shop in the shopping part of town and had a conversation with the owner. She explained to me about why Sedona was considered to be significant energy vortex and was not surprised at all about my experience at the restaurant. I think that one of these days, it might be worth a visit back there to spend a few days instead of just a couple of hours.
While in the area, we also visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross. What beautiful energy is found in the chapel. Peace. Love. A place to leave all your worries and cares behind and just sit quietly and talk to our Creator. I left with a peaceful heart.
At the end of the day, we all agreed that my brother had a hand in sending us to Sedona. Had it not been for the bout of motion sickness, we might not have ended up there. Not that my brother made me sick. That was my own body not cooperating that day and it was a lovely way to honor my brother's memory.
I had fully intended to talk about our philosopher guide or doctor teacher; However you would want to refer to that particular spirit guide. It was more important to share this little piece of myself instead. With the message that no matter which path you set out to take in life, you are going to end up where you are supposed to be. Don't be afraid of detours, they are there to send us on journeys that are good for the soul that we might not have otherwise taken.
Much love and many blessings to each and every one of you.
