I have been pondering what topic to write about today in my blog...when all of a sudden...it came to me...

Let's talk about dreams.

What are they? How can we use them to guide us?

I have a couple of philosophies about dreams. One is that dreams represent an internal and subconscious battle or discovery about oneself. For example, when I start dreaming about tornadoes, I know that there is something in my awake time that is stressing me and that's my subconscious telling me that it's time to deal with it before it destroys my peace and balance. For any of you who know me personally, you know that I am absolutely petrified of tornadoes because I remember the destruction of the Palm Sunday tornadoes which tore through the Midwest in 1965. I was not quite five years old when this happened, and I can remember every detail of that day. So, tornadoes in my dreams represent a storm within my psyche that needs to be dealt with.

Another philosophy is that our spirit guides send us messages through our dreams to guide us. Or perhaps a loved one comes through to give us a message. But, as I've mentioned in previous posts, they are seldom waving a sign that says HEY! YOU NEED TO EAT BETTER! Nope...they send us messages through signs and symbols. I am of the belief that when we remember our dreams, you better pull out the bedside notebook/diary and write down what you remember then grab the signs and symbols dictionary and decode the message.

When a person comes to me about repetitive dreams, I right away know that there's a message in there from their guides. What may be nightmarish or garish, usually isn't as bad as what someone originally thought. Our guides are there for just that...to guide us...and they are going to get those messages through the best that they can.

I have a couple of really good signs and symbols dictionaries, but if you don't want to spend the money on actual books, I have found that "dream moods" is a good site where you can look up your symbols for free.
